PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily discharge and retract an easily deflectable filmy material to be impressed by providing a means for intermittently sending a tape corresponding to advancing or retracting operation of a type integrally advancing or retracting with a holder of the type, and retracting the tape to a position separate from a bearer when the material is fed. SOLUTION: A foil tape 1 is brought into contact with or separated from a type by opening or closing arms 24, 25 in response to bringing a tape retainer 30 into contact with or separating the retainer 30 from a matter 33 to be impressed. In this case, the retainer 30 is bumped directly against the matter 33 so that the tape 1 is avoided to bump against the matter 33, and hence the matter 33 is effectively fixed to a bearer 32 while preventing damage of the tape 1. Since the tape 1 is held parallel to a type surface, an excessive force is not operated at the tape 1, an interval L between the tape 1 between guide rollers 10 and 11 and the bearer 32 can be increased at the advanced or retracted position of a slide plate 21. Thus, even when the matter 33 is an easily deflectable filmy packaging material, the matter 33 can be smoothly discharged or retracted.
