<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head with an improved striking surface. <P>SOLUTION: In this golf club head, a groove 12 is machined into a strike surface with tight tolerances. The groove has the sharp edge, a round end and a draft angle between about 2°to 12°. The striking surface is machined to have a more uniform texture with a roughness of more than 40 Ra.
