PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel indicator capable of detecting selectively and highly sensitively hydrogen peroxide in a living cell. SOLUTION: This novel indicator contains a yeast protein Glutathione peroxidase 3 (Gpx 3), a yeast protein Yeast activator protein 1 (Yap 1), and fluorescent proteins X, Y of generating fluorescent resonance energy transfer (FRET), and the fluorescent proteins X, Y generate FRET signals by a stereoscopic structure change of the Yab 1 due to the hydrogen peroxide.
