PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chain capable of reducing wear of link plates without dropping tensile strength of the link plates. SOLUTION: The chain 1 is provided with a plurality of link plates 2 provided with a pair of pin holes 4, a plurality of connecting pins 5 passing through the pair of pin holes 4 and connecting the plurality of link plates 2 endlessly. An inner circumference surface 6 of one of the pair of pin holes 4 includes a low hardness surface 6b, and a high hardness surface 6a having hardness higher than that of the low hardness surface 6b and having distance from another of the pair of pin holes 4 longer than that from the low hardness surface 6b.
