SENSING APPARATUS AND SENSING METHOD USING DIELECTROPHORETIC IMPEDANCE

An apparatus and method for detecting bio molecule using dielectrophoretic impedance are provided to carry out Lab On a Chip and detect quickly with low price. A method for detecting a specific material among similar electricity materials comprises: a step of adding an attracting agent-coated insulator bead in a sample to make mixture sample; a step of floating the mixture sample between electrodes; a step of applying AC voltage of specific frequency to the electrode to cause dielectrophoresis; a step of measuring impedance of the insulator bead; and a step of analyzing the impedance value and determining the presence of specific material and amount. An apparatus(100) for detecting the specific material comprises: a examining plate(110) having attracting agent-coated insulator bead(50) and mixture sample(70); a function generator(120) which applies AC voltage of specific frequency; an impedance analyzer(130) which measures the change of impedance value according to the insulator bead; and determining device(140) which judges the presence of specific material and amount comparing the impedance value with standard value.
