PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for use of device-2-device (D2D), device discovery related to an adjacent base service, and connection establishment.SOLUTION: A series of position update messages 202A, 202B are provided from mobile devices 102A, 102B, and are combined with an existing position service or position management data managed by a carrier management network. Position information is used by a carrier network in order to determine whether the mobile devices are adjacent to each other and whether the mobile devices are located within a range for establishing D2D communication link 110. Also, the position information is adjusted in relation to a position service of an EPC (Evolved Packet core) and another part of a carrier base network for tracking an adjacent or correct position of a UE.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
