PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To have a lateral direction center of article with various sizes in lateral width coincided with a lateral direction predetermined reference position of a stacker crane. SOLUTION: Position of decks 24 on right and left is adjusted such that a distance L is equal to or larger than [M×(1/2)], where M is a lateral width of article. Then the article is placed on the deck 24. By this operation, a lateral direction center of article is coincided with a lateral direction center C1 of a deck device 22, in its turn, it is coincided with a lateral direction center of a slide fork by operating a guiding member 25.
