PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner capable of preventing a seal part on the filter side and seal part on the housing side from being damaged when attaching and detaching a filter. SOLUTION: An air cleaner is equipped with a housing 22 having an opening part 23 and a filter 25 for supporting an element 29 in a frame 28. In the state that the filter 25 is mounted in the housing 22 from the opening part 23 in the housing 22, a second seal surface 37a on a seal ring 37 on the filter 25 side is joined to a first seal surface 35 on the housing side 22. The housing 22 is provided with a rib-like protection part 38 projected to the filter 25 side from the first seal surface 35 besides extending along the first seal surface 35. The frame 28 of the filter 25 is provided with a slide projection 39 slidable on a protection part 38 besides projecting to the first seal side 35 from the second seal surface 37a.
