PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sort sheets and load the sheets on a loading tray so that a user can easily take out the sheets, and to specify on which area of the loading tray the sheets have been already loaded.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 includes: sheet sorting members 160; an operating mechanism 170; and sheet detectors 164. The sheet sorting members 160 and the operating mechanism 170 shift the position of sheets P on the loading tray 151 in an ejection direction of the sheets P and in a direction orthogonal to the ejection direction, so that the sheets P are loaded on a selected area of a plurality of predetermined areas on the loading tray 151. The sheet detectors 164 are each disposed at an end of each predetermined area on the loading tray 151, being an end at which sheets loaded on predetermined areas different from the predetermined area are not superposed, to detect whether any sheet is loaded on the predetermined area. |
