PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a starting characteristic of an engine while restricting a consumption of battery by driving a fuel pump before starting the engine only when a residual amount of fuel in a fuel tank is less.SOLUTION: A fuel pump driving device for supplying fuel to an engine by driving the fuel pump comprises: a detecting part for detecting a state immediately before starting an engine that detects that the engine is just before its starting operation; a fuel residual amount detecting part for detecting a residual amount of fuel within a fuel tank; and a fuel pump control part for driving the fuel pump before the engine is started when the fuel residual amount detecting part detects that the fuel residual amount is less than a predetermined value and the detecting part for detecting a state immediately before starting an engine detects that the engine is immediately before its starting operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
