A backlight module and display device having the same. The backlight module comprises: a light guide plate (10) comprising a horizontal light guide plate body (10a) and a first bending portion (10b) adjacent to a non-light-incident side; and an optical membrane group (20) comprising a horizontal optical membrane group body (20a) and a second bending portion (20b) adjacent to the non-light-incident side, wherein the optical membrane group body (20a) is tightly adhered to an upper surface of the light guide plate body (10a), and the second bending portion (20b) is tightly adhered to the first bending portion (10b). By providing no rubber frame (2) and back plate (40) portion to at least one one-light-incident side of the backlight module, and bending corresponding ends of light guide plate (10) and the optical membrane group (20), the backlight module can realize a multi-surface backlight effect. Furthermore, display panels are provided at an upper surface and side surface of the backlight module simultaneously, such that the display devices can simultaneously display at the upper surface and side surface. The display device has a simple structure, a low cost, convenient installation and an extended field of applying the display device. |
