<p>PURPOSE: A three-dimensional image acquisition apparatus and a depth information extraction method from the same are provided to extract accurate distance information regardless of used waveforms by extracting distance information considering an actual nonlinear waveform. CONSTITUTION: A light source generates different projected lights sequentially, and projects the projected lights on a subject (S21). An imaging device photographs reflected light, which is modulated by an optical modulator, for given exposure time, and outputs an intensity image (S22). A depth information image processing unit reads A_k and B_k which are weightings stored in a memory, and obtains a depth, d, by referring to a lookup table (S23, S24). After the extracted depth information of the subject is treated with post-processing, the depth information image processing unit indicates the three-dimensional image of the subject on a display (S25).
