PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly communication device which can transmit and receive data by proximity wireless communication without requiring any complicated operation, while saving power of a proximity wireless communication means which consumes significant power during communication standby.SOLUTION: The communication device having a plurality of wireless communication units includes a first proximity wireless communication unit performing wireless communication with other communication device, a second proximity wireless communication unit having a communication rate higher than that of the first proximity wireless communication unit, and a control unit for controlling the operation of the first proximity wireless communication unit and/or the second proximity wireless communication unit by supplying power to each communication unit or stopping power supply. When wireless communication via the first wireless communication unit is permitted, power supply to the second wireless communication unit is stopped so as to stop the second wireless communication unit. When wireless communication via the first wireless communication unit is not permitted, power is supplied to the second wireless communication unit so that wireless communication with other communication device is possible. |
