PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens unit for a camera and an on-vehicle camera capable of ensuring sufficient resolution even if exposed to a bad temperature environment.SOLUTION: A lens unit for a camera 20 of an on-vehicle camera comprises a lens group 19 consisting of a plurality of lenses 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 arranged along optical axes of the lenses 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7. The lens unit 20 comprises a lens barrel 1 for integrally supporting the lens group 19 and a support member 17 for supporting the lens barrel 1 in a positioned state with respect to a substrate 16 provided with an imaging sensor 8. In the lens unit 20, regarding a light beam condensed at the center of an image surface in an optical system, a ratio of a focus distance of the optical system in a set reference temperature of the maximum value of a shift amount of a peak position of an MTF de-focus curve in a temperature range from -40°C to +105°C with respect to a peak position of the MTF de-focus curve at the set reference temperature is set to be 0.0015 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
