PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide speech communication apparatus not only for preventing echo suppression capability from degrading even when the positional relationship between a speaker and a microphone is changed but also for allowing high quality speech communication to be performed regardless of the positional relationship between a near-end person and the microphone. SOLUTION: A current value detection part 131 is provided that detects the current value of a parameter defining the positional relationship between a remote-end signal conversion part 112 and either of first 121 or second 122 near-end voice conversion parts. First 133 and second 134 near-end signal delay parts are used to delay near-end signals in accordance with the current value determined by the current value detection part 131.
