PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide composition for optical film having high-grade near-infrared absorbing power and also excellent in light resistance, and optical film using the composition for optical film, having simple constitution and easily manufactured. SOLUTION: The composition for the optical film contains a stabilized cyanine pigment consisting of cations and quencher anions selected from a group consisting of compounds expressed by formulae (I) to (III), and a diimmonium pigment as a quencher compound.
