PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface processing method for forming a film on a continuous printing paper surface, that it is impossible heretofore, and to provide a processing apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: In the processing apparatus having steps of applying a UV coating material on a continuous paper after printing, laminating a film thereon, irradiating the sheet with UV light, and peeling the film after the coating material is cured to form a film face on the print surface, the apparatus comprises a surface smoothening roll, a coating application apparatus, a cooling and laminating drum and an UV apparatus. The method for processing a surface includes steps of: applying a UV coating material on the surface of a printing paper after the printed surface of the continuous printing paper is smoothened; laminating a film on the printing paper after being coated, irradiating the UV coating material on the printing paper with UV rays through the film, peeling the film from the printing paper after the UV coating material is cured, and cooling and winding the film.
