PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress unnecessary power consumption even when the time of a stop state of a vehicle lasts long, and to eventually improve fuel efficiency.SOLUTION: A contactor 60 for obtaining a cutoff state or a communicating state of a flow of electric power between a motor 12 and a high voltage battery 41 is arranged between the motor 12 and the high voltage battery 41. A control unit 50 performs power consumption suppressing control to bring the contactor 60 into the cutoff state when the contactor 60 is in the communicating state and a hybrid vehicle does not travel for a predetermined period of time or more. Therefore, since the contactor 60 is brought into the cutoff state when the time of a stop state of a vehicle lasts long without depending on SOC of the high voltage battery as in conventional cases, unnecessary power consumption by a high voltage device like an inverter 42 can be suppressed. Accordingly, fuel efficiency of the vehicle can be improved and the high voltage battery 41 can be surely protected from excessive discharge. |
