A sanitary opening/closing unit of a food waste basket is provided to replace only a damaged article separately by engaging a hanger section of a movement section with a lid of the food waste basket. A sanitary opening/closing unit of a food waste basket includes a bottom plate(1), a first support section(20), a movement section(30), a second support section(40), a pressing section(50), and a resilient member(60). The bottom plate includes a plate and a fixing sill. The first support section is fixed to the bottom plate and includes a vertical rod and a connecting rod. A pulley is provided in the interiors of the vertical rod and the connecting rod. The movement section includes a hanger section and a wire. The second support section is fixed to the bottom plate. A movement groove is formed at a lower portion of the second support section. The pressing section is inserted into the movement groove of the second support section and is rotatably mounted to the second support section. The resilient member is engaged with a first ring formed in the bottom plate and a second ring formed in the pressing section.
