PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide various agents exhibiting anti-aging actions, to provide a skin care preparation for anti-aging, and to provide a skin anti-aging method. SOLUTION: A MMP activity inhibitor, a type I collagen production promoter, a type IV collagen production promoter, and an estrogen-like action-expressing agent each contains a Chloranthus japonicus extract as an active ingredient. A skin care preparation for anti-aging also, contains the Chloranthus japonicus extract as an active ingredient. The skin anti-aging method comprises supplying the Chloranthus japonicus extract to activate fibroblasts, inhibiting MMP activity, promoting the production of type I collagen, promoting the production of type IV collagen, or expressing an estrogen-like action.
