PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seedling planting apparatus that enables reduction in the size of a seedling planting tool and the size of the seedling planting hole formed at a field. SOLUTION: The seedling planting apparatus is provided with a center shaft 24 extending in lateral direction of the seedling planting machine 1, rotating shafts 25 rotatably supported at positions deviated from the center shaft 24 at intervals dividing a rotary member 21 rotating around the center shaft 24 into three, and seedling planting tools 26 attached to individual rotating shafts 25, successively engaging with non-uniform motion gears 27, 39, 40 for transmitting power from the rotary shaft 24 of the rotary member 21 to each rotating shaft 25. The size of a seedling planting hole formed on a field can be optimized, even by lowering the working speed of the seedling planting apparatus, because the corresponding nonuniform motion gear 27, 39, 40 has a gear ratio to transmit the power at the highest angular velocity to the rotating shaft 25 of each seedling planting tool 26 in the ascending motion of each seedling planting tool 26, during the motion of each seedling planting tool 26 interlocked with the rotation of the rotary member 21, along a prescribed loop orbit starting from the front side, passing through the bottom dead point and ascending to the back side.
