PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a penetrant for inkjet whose use reduces total VOC and allows recording good images on plain paper and dedicated glossy paper, and an ink composition for inkjet recording containing the same.SOLUTION: A penetrant for inkjet is a penetrant for inkjet containing a compound obtained by block polymerizing an alcohol represented by formula (2): CH-OH (wherein x is an integer of 5 to 10) with propylene oxide and ethylene oxide successively, and represented by formula (1): CH-O-(PO)-(EO)-H, wherein the content of the alcohol is ≤1 mass% (wherein x is an integer of 5 to 10, y is an integer of 0 to 7, and z is an integer of 3 to 10; PO is a propyleneoxy group; and EO is an ethyleneoxy group). |
