PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video recording apparatus achieving prompt reservation setting of a currently broadcasted program while watching it. SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a controlling means 18 controlling respective means. That is, considering short-term depression of a record key of a key entry means 13 as a reservation recording start instruction, a receiving means 2 recognizes a currently receiving channel. With long-term depression of the record key, an acquiring means 11 operates to acquire and store electronic program guide information on the channel in a memory means 12. With the next short-term depression of the record key, the electronic program guide information is read out from the memory means 12 to display dairy recording reservation information on a screen of a display means 15 to set dairy recording reservation by a reservation setting means 16 after a predetermined time. With short-term depression of the record key in the predetermined time, the dairy recording reservation information is displayed on the screen to set the dairy recording reservation after the predetermined time.
