PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data communication system capable of notifying a transmitting party certainly at the time of data reception that a receiving party receives data, in data communication accompanied with printing of the data. SOLUTION: The data communication system is installed at an installation place of a data receiver (illustrated as a highly functional digital composite machine 3). In addition, the system is provided with a photographing device (illustrated as a security camera 6 and its controller 5) for photographing a user of the composite machine 3 at the reception side. Moreover, the composite machine 3 at the reception side includes a printing portion for printing received data. When a printing request of data for reception is issued to the printing portion by the composite machine 3 at the reception side, the data communication system photographs a user, who is a recipient of the data, by the security camera 6. Then, it transmits the photographed image to a notification destination (for example, e-mail address of a cellular phone 7) specified by a transmitting party of the data to inform that the data is received.
