PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multidirectional operation component capable of surely detecting linear movement and rotating operation of an operation body, and of unifying operation touch. SOLUTION: The operation body 2 has an operation part 20 exposed to the outside of a case body 1, and a shaft part 21 projecting into the case body 1 from the operation part 20; a drive body 3 is arranged in the case body 1; the drive body 3 has an opening 30, having the shaft part 21 inserted therein and extending along a predetermined linear direction, and thereby the shaft part 21 can be moved in the opening 30 with movement of the operation body 2 in a linear direction; the shaft part 21 has an engaging part 22 that engages with the drive body 3, when located at a predetermined position; when the shaft part 21 rotates at the predetermined position, the drive body is turned; and a part of a plurality of electrical components 8 forms a linear direction detecting part 60 driven with the movement of the operation body 2 in the linear direction, and a remaining one part thereof forms a turning detecting part 61, driven accompanying the rotation of the drive body 2.
