In the sheet`s direction of travel (24), nozzles (2) positioned in the entry part (11) of a guide surface (1) are exposed to either suction or blown air depending on the material being printed. The nozzles of the guide zone positioned between the entry part and the outlet part (12) of the guide surface are exposed to blown air. At least some of he nozzles convey the blown air at a tangent to the surface of the guide surface.
