PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide several different users with individually different television program organizations and individually different multiplex interaction type program guides.SOLUTION: A multiplex interaction type program guide (IPG) provides several different users with individually different television program organizations and different IPGs. A single set top box provides several different television receivers with the program organizations and scheduling data. Each of the different IPGs shares a common database. Accordingly, the IPG viewed by a first user of a system may display sometimes data, added or corrected through a second IPG by a second user. Further, the data added or corrected by the second user may sometimes affects right of viewing of the first user. Furthermore, a competitive requirement and a conflicting requirement with respect to a limited resource, such as a VCR periodical record, are reported to the user and are displayed by the system.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1B |
