PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology that relates to an optical unit capable of efficiently utilizing light of a light source for illumination.SOLUTION: In an optical unit, a rotation reflector 26 rotates around a rotation axis in one direction while reflecting light emitted from a light source. The rotation reflector 26 is provided with a reflection surface so that the light of the light source reflected by the rotating rotation reflector 26 forms a desired light distribution pattern. The light source is formed by light emitting elements. The rotation axis is provided on a plane including an optical axis and the light source.
