A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to improve discharge efficiency by vibrating electrons when a high frequency pulse is applied. A plasma display device includes a PDP(Plasma Display Panel,400), a driving unit(440), and a driving pulse controller(450). The PDP includes high frequency electrodes. The driving unit drives the high frequency electrodes. The driving pulse controller controls the driving unit, so that a high frequency pulse is applied on the high frequency electrode during a sustain period. The PDP includes sustain and scan electrodes, which are formed on a first substrate. The high frequency electrodes are formed on the first substrate. Address electrodes are formed on a second substrate, which faces the first substrate.
