The method involves activating power input of a power supply and a power output, and deactivating the power input at an inductor (17c) and a capacitor (19c) of an oscillation circuit (59). A transient oscillation of the oscillation circuit is determined by interrupting the oscillation circuit, where power is discharged from the oscillation circuit over the power supply and a load resistor which are arranged outside of the oscillation circuit. An independent claim is also included for a therapy device with a power supply and a power output.
