PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder which can carry out movement of a carriage having a recording head mounted thereon at a low load and can accurately perform recording. SOLUTION: The recorder is configured such that, when the carriage 121 is tilted to a carriage guide member 122, the recording head 129 swings relative to the carriage so as to maintain the parallelism with the carriage guide member. Thereby, even if looseness is caused between the carriage and the carriage guide, the carriage can be moved as it is, enabling the movement of the carriage at a low load. Even if the carriage is tilted by a looseness quantity when moved, the recording head can individually swing to maintain the parallelism with a carriage guide shaft, enabling accurate recording.
