PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device which performs high-definition recording by controlling the driving of motors under optimal conditions considering the conditions of recording mediums on a transfer route in transferring the recording mediums by simultaneously driving a plurality of motors and a transfer control method. SOLUTION: The recording device transfers the recording mediums and feeds them into the device through a first transfer roller to which a driving force generated by a first motor is transmitted, and detects a rotation position by the first transfer roller. Furthermore, in accordance with recording actions by the recording head, the device transfers the recording mediums fed through a second transfer roller to which a driving force generated by a second motor is transmitted and detects a rotation position by the second transfer roller. The driving timing of one of the first and second transfer rollers and the driving force are adjusted on the basis of a record command and predetermined driving conditions, and the driving of the first and second motors controlled on the basis of the adjustment value and the detected position information.
