PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for detecting tool breakage capable of completely preventing ingress of chips, coolant, machining dust or the like during cutting therein by feeding high-pressure air or installing rubber boots, and eliminating the effect on a driving device, a sensor circuit, an electric circuit or the like. SOLUTION: The device for detecting tool breakage is capable of enhancing the waterproof function and the dust-proof function by taking countermeasures for high-pressure air 48 or using flexible rubber boots in order to prevent ingress of chip, coolant, machining dust or the like generated during the cutting therein.
