<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water stop apparatus which can prevent a leakage along a valve stem even if a water stop capability of a gland packing is decreased in a drain valve whose gland packing is difficult to replace. <P>SOLUTION: The water stop apparatus includes a latch hole which is engaged in a retaining part 123 of the valve shaft: a retaining member 2 which is split into two at the surface passing through axis line of the latch hole; a cylindrical part which is adjacent to a seal member 7 fitted into the valve shaft 121 at the top side surface of a packing flange 127, and which envelops the seal member; and a tabular part which is fixed to the upside of the cylindrical part, and which has a valve stem through hole for loose fit with the valve shaft. A pressing member 3 is provided which is split into two at the surface passing through an axis line of the valve stem through hole. A coupling member is provided which couples the half parts of the retaining member, and the half parts of the pressing member together. A clamping member 4 is provided which compresses the seal member located into the cylindrical part, and fitted into the valve stem by pushing the pressing member to the retaining member fitted into the retaining part of the valve stem, and which presses the packing flange and the valve stem. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
