PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exactly discriminate opening and ground fault when a circuit is constituted as a low side circuit, opening and short circuit when the circuit is constituted as a high side circuit, in a drive circuit provided with a diode for protecting reverse connection. SOLUTION: The load drive circuit is provided with: a first comparator circuit which compares output point voltage of a switching element with second reference voltage; a second comparator circuit which compares the output point voltage of the switching element with fourth reference voltage in off of the switching element; a constant voltage circuit which supplies third reference voltage set to below the second reference voltage and more than the fourth reference voltage to both edges of the switching element when the output voltage of the switching element is below the first reference voltage set at more than the second reference voltage; and a discriminator which detects opening of the circuit when the first comparator circuit detects that the output point voltage of the switching element is below the second reference voltage, and when the second comparator circuit detects that the output point voltage of the switching element is more than the fourth reference voltage.
