PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unevenly distribute the internal defect to the inner peripheral wall side when a hollow member composed of an aluminum or an aluminum alloy is manufactured with centrifugal casting. SOLUTION: As the aggregate of coating material applied to the inner part of the cylindrical metallic mold 12, the material which has heat conductivity of≥1.0 W/mK, preferably,≥70 W/mK, further preferably,≥120 W/mK, is added into the water to be stirred and does not cause precipitation at the lapse of time of 12 hours after stopping the stirring, and which is preferably a carbon, is employed. For the coating material, besides the aggregate, a binder and a surfactant are mixed in water being a solvent. After applying the coating material, the molten aluminum or aluminum alloy is introduced into the inner part of the cylindrical metallic mold 12. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
