PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of kink of a fixing member even when excessive temperature rise occurs in the fixing member because of sudden abnormal stop of the fixing member caused by paper jam or turn-off of an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A fixing device is configured to comprise: a heat source; a rotatable fixing member that is partially heated by the heat source, and heats one side of a recording medium carrying an unfixed image; a rotatable pressure member that comes into pressure contact with the fixing member, and forms a nip part with the fixing member; and rotation drive means for rotating the fixing member or the pressure member. When the fixing member is stopped by reason other than completion of fixing processing while the fixing device is turned on, the fixing device rotates the fixing member at least by a predetermined amount after the fixing member is stopped. |
