PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an optically active amine compound via a highly enantioselective hydrogenation reaction of an imine compound using a ruthenium metal complex having high catalytic activity.SOLUTION: A method for producing an optically active amine compound comprises hydrogenating a predetermined imine compound using a ruthenium complex represented by general formula (1):RuXYAB such as RuBr[(S,S)-xylskewphos][(S,S)-dpen]. The obtained optical active amine compound corresponds to the imine compound.
