The invention relates to an elevator system (1) which has a drive (3), a car (5), multiple safety function components (9a-p) for providing safety functions at different positions within the elevator system (1), and a safety monitoring system (11) for controlling all of the safety function components (9a-p). The safety monitoring system (11) has multiple safety monitoring units (13a-e). The elevator system (1) is characterized in that the safety monitoring units (13a-e) have an input interface for reading data or signals, a data processing unit for processing the data or signals into control signals, and an output interface for outputting the control signals to an assigned safety function component of the safety function components (9a-p). At least some of the safety monitoring units (13) of the safety monitoring system (11) are connected together via data exchange channels (15). Furthermore, the safety monitoring units (13a-e) of the safety monitoring system (11) are organized in the form of a master/slave hierarchy, wherein one of the safety monitoring units (13e) is designed as a master unit and at least one of the safety monitoring units (13a-d) is designed as a slave unit. The elevator system allows a high degree of safety with as little cabling complexity as possible and thus as inexpensively as possible, in particular for high-rise elevators, by means of the decentralized safety monitoring units (13a-e), which are provided with their own data processing capability, and by means of the master/slave organization. |
