PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device equipped with a cooling mechanism capable of properly cooling a light emission part even if a discharge lamp in accordance with projection attitude of a projector is in one of a horizontal lighting state or a vertical lighting state in a light source device for the projector equipped with the discharge lamp and a reflection mirror and also equipped with the cooling mechanism for cooling the discharge lamp.SOLUTION: Blowout ports 11, 12 of a pair of cooling ducts 7, 8 of a cooling mechanism 6 are provided directed to the upper side and the lower side of a light-emission part 5 of a discharge lamp 3 in a horizontal lighting state, respectively. On the blowout ports 11, 12, wind shielding members 13, 14 are mounted which change respective opening areas by movement in a gravity direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
