PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress reduction of image quality caused by unsharp mask processing while improving sharpness of an image by the unsharp mask processing.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus comprises: an acquisition part which acquires source image data representing a source image; a determination part which determines, for each of a plurality of pixels included in the source image, whether a black pixel is included within a peripheral range including that pixel; and a sharp processing part which executes the unsharp mask processing on a first type of pixels including a pixel for which it is determined that the black pixel is not included within the peripheral range, among the plurality of pixels in the source image, and does not execute the unsharp mask processing on a second type of pixels including a pixel for which it is determined that the black pixel is included in the peripheral range.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
