PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical signal relay device, an optical communication system, and an optical signal relay method that can reduce difference in transmission times due to difference in the transmission distances of an optical signal between a station side device and a plurality of customer side devices connected with communication paths that branch from a communication path.SOLUTION: An optical signal relay device 7 relays optical signals transmitted between a station side device (OLT 2) and a plurality of customer side devices (ONUs 3 and 74) connected with communication paths that branch from a communication path. The optical signal relay device 7 comprises a delay element 72a. The delay element 72a is provided between an ONU (ONU 74) connected with the OLT 2 via the shortest communication path among the communication paths that branch from the communication path and the OLT 2, and delays the transmission of an optical signal that propagates on the shortest communication path.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
