PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket device in which sure electrical connection and assembling can be secured, in which a conductive terminal piece of a connector member protruding from a socket body is hardly contacted with other members, and deformation by an external force can be reduced, and provide an illumination device mounted with the socket device. SOLUTION: This device is formed with a lamp mounting hole formed at one end side of the cylindrical socket body 1, a flange 2 formed on the surrounding wall 11 of the socket body 1, a notched part 3 along the axis of the socket, first and second protruded locking parts 41, 42 formed on the surrounding wall 11 on both sides of the notched part 3 of the socket body 1 at a prescribed gap to the flange 2, a connecting member having a conductor terminal piece 53 mounted in the lamp mounting hole of the socket body 1 and extended from the notched part 3 to the vicinity of and between the protruded locking parts 41, 42, and a baseless type lamp 6 mounted in the mounting hole of the socket body 1 and retained and connected to the connecting member.
