A playback system (100) has a rotating body section (600) rotated by rotating operation by a user, a rotational movement detection means (810) for detecting the rotation of the rotating body section and outputting a detection signal according to conditions of the rotation, and a restriction means (900) for variably generating a load of predetermined magnitude during rotating operation of the rotating body section (600) by input operation conducted by the user. The magnitude of frictional resistance in rotation of a restriction gear (911), which engages with the rotating body section (600), is varied by varying urging force of an urging coil spring (915) by rotational operation of an operation knob (953). The load is varied to the magnitude of preference to a DJ in the rotational operation of the knob.
