PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC balance circuit capable of reducing a DC offset component of a display element, using a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A DC offset calculating unit 32 calculates a DC offset component Vos from the ground level VG of the driving waveform of the driving signal S1 of the liquid crystal display element based upon the drive waveform of the drive signal S1. Further, the DC offset calculating unit 32 and a DC offset holding unit 33 set a new ground level VG', based upon the detected DC offset component Vos. The ground level is set at any time, based upon the driving waveform of the driving signal S1 actually supplied to the liquid crystal display element 1 and the DC offset component of the driving waveform is reduced.
