This invention relates to a cistern device or unit for flushing the water contained from the cistern to the toilet bowl by means of a controlled flow of water and a siphon effect. The purpose of this invention is to provide a cistern unit which, apart from meeting all the requirements for efficient and safe operation, can be adapted to any type of toilet, requires less mechanical force for operation thereof and also has the dual function of an optional and controlled flushing of two different quantities of water.
