The camera (1) has an object distance measuring device with a housing (2), a lens (3) and an illumination device (4). Light rays of the illumination device are shadowed in front of the lens through the housing, such that a conical shade (5) with a cone apex (6) is formed. The illumination device is arranged and aligned behind the lens such that a position of the cone apex represents a correct object distance to the camera. The illumination device is formed like a ring with LEDs. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a camera.
