<p>The method involves controlling an electric compressor (2) by control electronics (10). The compressor is actuated by the electronics for increasing an inflow air pressure in a suction pipe (12) when the performance is to be increased by an electric motor (5). Electric energy is obtained by a recovery device (15) when the vehicle is braked, and/or a generator is driven by an internal combustion engine (9) for loading a high power battery (16) of the vehicle with the recovered energy, when the complete performance of the engine is not retrieved.
