The sliding door (10) has two glass panes (12, 14) that are aligned parallel to each other at a distance from each other. A peripheral profiled spacer section (20) is arranged between the glass panes in an edge region. The spacer section is provided with a section (22), where an edge-open hollow section (24) is inserted between free ends of the spacer section forming the section of the spacer section. The hollow section has a finger or plug-in section (26) running in a longitudinal direction of the spacer section. A carriage (40) having a roller (46) is inserted in the hollow section.
