A problem to be solved by the present invention is to detect a detection subject body tissue with high precision, reliably, and automatically. Provided is an ultrasound body tissue detecting device (10), comprising a transceiver unit (11), a two-dimensional data acquisition unit (14), a spatial frequency distribution computing unit (15), and a determination unit (16). The transceiver unit (11) transmits ultrasound signals within a subject's body, and receives echo signals thereof. The two-dimensional data acquisition unit (14) forms a two-dimensional echo image formed from the two dimensions of the ultrasound transmission direction and the scan direction. By frequency transforming the two-dimensional echo image, the spatial frequency distribution computing unit (15) computes a spatial frequency distribution with respect to a determination subject location. On the basis of a distribution of the amplitude in the ultrasound transmission direction and the distribution of the amplitude in the scan direction of the spatial frequency distribution, the determination unit (16) carries out a determination of whether the determination subject location is a detection subject body tissue. |
